Quick key fob question
When I got my car it only came with one key fob, I bought a spare with a manual key and programmed it but didn't get the key cut.
If this new fob is erased by myself with techstream is it considered a virginized key or it's info just erased from this particular car? I read somewhere about needing a code and a different procedure but was hoping that wasn't the case with a 2013. Thanks.

Not sure. If you ever programed a key to any car that usually means it is used and would need to be re-virginized before another car would use it.

I can understand that a used key from another car can't be programmed or erased on any other, if it was new and programmed to a car then it can be erased but I guess that doesn't virginize it.... I erased the other 2 keys that were programmed to my car when it was new the day I programmed the one I bought from the dealer.

You need special eqooipment to 'virginize' smartkey. Techstream won't doo it.

It is possible to add an used key (non-virgin) using "all keys lost procedure" in Techstream. The master must added the last. I have done that in the past. However, it takes at least, 16 minutes and requires a seed generator which I used to have a while ago.

Well, I'm kinda sorry I popped it's cherry because I was thinking of trying to sell it. I'm getting a card key and if I like it maybe get another, I don't like the fob cuz of the combination of wallet/phone and fob I might as well get a purse. Thanks for the info guys.
