Default Brake actuator time

It's at $4k now, ouch.
I called a local reputable shop, waiting for their quote.
Can't believe being under 29k miles this is happening already.

I would pay you 20k for it if the interior has been replaced. If not 8-9k but that's just me.....

Did you ever change the fluid btw? It's really critical it's done every two years max on these even if not used much.

There's a 10 year extended warranty on these offered by Lexus. Call your dealer and perhaps they'ed do something for you.

New actuator will be around $900.00 labor was a few hours. I just got mine done at the dealership a few months ago. I just bought an OEM one and had the dealer install it.

If I lived in Florida, I would replace brake fluid every 12 months maximum.

this is very nice. I've called a reputable Lexus shop in Houston and they do not allow customer to bring in their own parts.
To replace the brake actuator this indy shop would charge $3400 when i called them in 2020. Lexus dealer might charge similar price.

If you bring your own parts, you won't get a shop warranty for parts or labor. Let them supply the part and you should get full warranty from them. Sometimes paying a higher price for a part is worth it. It's a personal decision.

Yes, that's right but you won't get the labor covered upon part failure when you bring that part to another shop for install. This thread is about having the labor done at a shop.
