Question Found an oil leak

I was chasing a rattle and found a small oil leak between the cylinder head and the block next to the alternator. Has anybody seen such leak before?

Are you sure? That would be an external head gasket leak if you are 1000% sure that the leak is not coming from somewhere else.

Yeeeaa although it'd be first in my practice and I can't really see how that could even happen. Spillage? Valve cover leak? Pics??

I checked the valve cover gasket and it is clean. When there is no winter storm outside (running of my generator right now), I will try to take a picture. I could see a clean spot with fresh oil where the oil gets pushed out.

I did awhile ago, I removed the alternator and it looked like it was either coming from where the timing cover met the head or the head itself. It was more of an ooze/weep and hasn't come back yet but it probably will at some point.
