Lot's of opinions on aftermarket warranties. When facing several thousands in repairs, it's good to have the coverage. Would you do business with yours again?

It's underwritten by "preferred protection plan austin texas" owned by iaawg. Their CS was excellent, and they had all the previous claims approved at a fair speed. I spoke to multiple CS reps on this tranny issue throughout last month and they were up to the knowledge. They were not dodgy on anything. The shop requested parts and they parts were ordered next day and sent to the shop in two weeks, a whole tranny unit. When the replacement tranny came with no filter, they approved additional labor and parts on same day.

It took four weeks from submitting the diagnostics to get my car out with a replaced tranny. Another two weeks is my fault where I was taking to different shops to get diagnostics. I was out of car for almost six weeks.
If I were I would have taken the ls to indy shop instead of dealership. Route66 is another company I have heard good things about. I will not own a LS460 without a warranty as it is electric gremlin.

I appreciate the info. My LS is a 2013 with only 62k on it but it does have air suspension along with all the other things that can typically go wrong. Though the miles are low, it's still 10 years old. I'll look into these companies.

You can buy route66 warranty through PenFed. Toco warranty is pay per month. I don't have personal experience with either but I'm aware about em when I was searching for LS460.

I also have a set of sensors on-hand but I'm hesitant to drop the valve body in my garage because I'm afraid springs will drop and won't be able to re-install them. Do you have any pointers?
Just checking if you were able to solve your transmission problem and what was done?
