I’m glad that I replaced the transmission pan bolts(9) while doing the transmission service. The old bolts were never replaced so they’ve been there since 2009. The washer on the old bolts are flat while the new ones have a wavy shape that probably acts like a spring to prevent self loosening.
That is called a split washer. I’ve never seen them used on the thin gauge oil and transmission pans. Sometimes one edge of the split washer will be sharp and can cut into the pan. I would add a regular washer. Those were sold by the dealer? Is it an issue for this model transmission to lose pan bolts?

yes these are oem bolts from Lexus dealer. Actually these split washers sit on a steel collar embedded in the rubber washer. Yes it sounds a good idea to add an additional washer.
