Hi:

Really glad you were able to get the update.

I have a 2010 and have used a battery tender ever since I bought it preowned in 2016. It had 57,000 miles on it and the documentation showed it also ate up batteries. It was funny though as I read through the history, Lexus advised the owner early on to use a battery tender but the owner declined.

Anyway, I haven’t had any issues at all since I’ve owned it.

Continued good driving in your 2013.

Best

Great news about the TSB and a fix for your issue. I looked at the TSB and it is for early 2013 models. There's a VIN number listed that indicates the end of this potential issue (actually four VINs for each version of the LS). I'm going to check mine for peace of mind. You've already made a contribution to the forum!!

Sometimes a bloke gets lucky. And then there are other days. As St. George was heard to remark "Sometimes the dragon wins!" Today, I have a new chance at success, but if it had not have been for this Forum my day would have ended differently. The local Lexus Service Manager had never heard of this TSB until I gave him a copy yesterday and then he said "Well isn't that interesting!"

The central issue is why the heck did all the other Lexus dealers who owned this car not take any action on this from 2013 when it was under warranty? There is no answer. One dealer "who shall not be named" replaced the battery three times at 12 months intervals before selling the car on to the next sucker. One would think that repeated problems might have gotten their attention. Sadly it did not.

Cross your fingers as this issue may return.
