Default Clicking Sound when braking...2013 LS

Hello all,

I have a 2013 LS with 15,400 miles and every time I hit the brake I hear a clicking noise that appears to come from the front of the vehicle. The sound is pretty much identical to what it sounds like when you hear that clicking sound when the A/C relay pops the fans on. Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you!

Even though your mileage is low, the sound you describe is what a failing brake accumulator makes. Suggest you listen with hood open while a friend presses brake pedal. That should help pinpoint where the sound comes from.

CMS, SW17S can advise you as he's knowledgeable. This repair is expensive, but with a little knowledge, you'll save hundreds of dollars.

ive had an 07 executive that had a click when braking, it doesnt necessarily mean its going to fail anytime soon, or mayb e even fail at all but its good to be prepared

I sold it to a guy in nova scotia 3-4 years ago , he paid for shipping and i keep in contact with him , hes had no issues with it as of yet, never had to replace the actuator

Id try a brake fluid flush first and re-bleed the system, could be just a minor annoyance and not an actual failure

My mechanic told me that as long as there weren’t a bunch of warning lights, the actuator doesn’t have to be replaced just because it’s making noise. Annoying yes but safe.

I have a 2014 with 50k miles and have had that noise since 15k cpo purchase back in 2016 - I change out the brake fluid and do a proper flush with raven oil DOT 5.1 every 15 months because of brembo brakes and have had no issue - I think it’s just the actuator engaging but let the pros speak on the noise

It shouldn't make noise at all...but that doesnt mean it must be replaced if you can live with the noise.

My 2017 LS460 with 32000 miles clicks as well when touching the brake. Rather quiet click, if you not listening for it on purpose probably wouldn't notice. I think this is just a brake light or some other relay clicking we talking about.

As time goes on, the click will get louder.

And it may be that the Christmas tree lights never happen! All just luck of the draw
