Default 08 LS460L Navigation Out of Whack

Hello Mighty LS Forum. My navigation has been all over the place lately. Sometimes it's 50 miles off, 15 miles off, and 5 miles off. Worst of all, the problem is intermittent. It seems to happen a few times a week. Anyone else out there had this problem? Is there a way to do a system reboot?

Thanks!

my advice would be to take it to a dealership, there's a sequence of pushing they do for the navigation that can troubleshoot what is and isn't working related to the navigation specifically.

Mine is nuts aswell !!! It will say I am going north when I am going south , and east when I am going west. The arrow goes backwards and not forwards. My buddy is the head mechanic at Lexus ,and he cant figure it out. I did a firmware update ,and still nothing. Calibration hasnt done anything either.

I have the same problem with me 08 I had to do a manual calibration which only fixes the problem for a short time. I called Lexus and they recently took out the had unit to replace a wiring harness not sure if that had something to do with it. Another reason that I found out about if you recently tinted your back windows with something other then ceramic paper that could cause the problem too. I'm in the same boat as all you guys I don't want to take i back to Lexus cuz something else might go wrong. I just got my car a few weeks ago and it has already spent 2 weeks at lexus for air bag wiring harness.

vicsis250 i got your pm so i will answer here.

fisrt thing i check is the region, make sure you are in the right region. on all new lexus the gps antenna is behind the dash, so tinting side and rear windows won't affect that.

i hope it's not some other weird internal ecu problem

Make sure your system isn't set with the north function, and if u have a video bypass check that too because it will affect your gps.

It sounds like the gps antenna module has gone bad, have the dealer check/replace it. Had exactly the same issues with both our 2008 IS & RX.

Thanks bro I guess that is my problem like I said I just got my air bag wiring harness replace and they had to rip out the whole dash so the idiots forgot to connect the GPS or it went bad all together thanks for the head up. I know what I have to do now.

yeah if they didn't connect the gps antenna then of course it's a dead system. but you are able to recalibrate every time, so that's kind of weird. it does sound like something is off
