Default Road Trip

Left Tucumcari, NM yesterday morning, arrived in North AR last night, 800 miles in 12 hours, I-40 all the way. Saw practically no big luxury sedans the entire trip. Lots of little station wagons on the road. Checked one tankful, 29mpg. Not really great by today’s standards, but I was very surprised. Talked to Model Y owner at length. Wish Tesla would do something with the styling and offer a luxury interior option.
LS500 is a fantastic long range cruiser.

I test drove a new Model S a month ago and the ride seemed comparable to my 2018 LS500. I can’t say that the interior was up to Lexus standards, but it was quite nice.

The new Model S has a range over 400 miles and it was a blast to drive. Very refined and very fast. You might want to take a test drive and see what you think!

My oldest son has a Model 3 Performance and is our first EV. It is a much better car than I expected, but is a bit quirky. I would consider one as a daily driver but with just over 300 mile range, I don’t know if I would like it as a long trip option.

29 MPG is pretty darn good. I really can't get it over 26 as Im going 75 or faster.
My overall avg is 19.5. Say 3/4 is urban.
I don't drive but 10k miles a year on my primary car.
Luxury car is not practical anyway you look at it.

I get about 26-27 on HW and average around 18-19 overall.
Think it is fine for a Luxury of this size and power.

I am finding the winter blend has greatly reduced MPG.

Driving on Highway w Dynamic Cruise set to 86 MPH averaging around 21.5 MPG. (Was raining)
Same trip with DC set to 75 MPH averaging around 23.5 MPG.

Not complaining, but wondering if anyone experienced similar results.

Very happy with the ride comfort, sturdiness and stereo sound quality.

No bump in MPG with the new rubber?

Much better ride without the stiff sidewalls of run flats, feels better planted in both dry and precipitation, but virtually no change in MPG, if anything may be a bit less but difficult to quantify. Won't be going back to run flats.

You go "modern spare" or a Griots type kit with goo and a pump?
Or both??
