200k km LS500
Hey Guys,
Just wanted to get an opinion as I'm in the market for a LS500 however not many around in Canada for a decent price/spec. Found an Executive spec 2018 LS500 with 200k km for sale for around 43k CAD. Wondering firstly how reliable these are with that high KM and get a feel if this is overpriced/not worth the price km? has anyone owned a high milage LS500?
this is the add and appears to have the executive package: https://www.lexusofcalgary.com/used/...id12399574.htm
Currently own a 2013 LS460 and its been great with minimal issues but looking for the tech upgrade in the LS500's.
Thanks in advance

Thinking that's pretty minor for a car that cost 150k new. Even on my LS460, a headlight alone is over 3k without instal.
Anyways trying to see if its even worth spending the money on one of these with the maintenance issues (potentially get them to include a warranty or CPO the car) or find a 500H with lower km's or stick with the more reliable prior gen.

Reliability
LS500 is a very reliable car. This is a message board where owners gripe about issues, some very minor, others often pretty rare.
Reliability on a pristine car would not concern me.
Reliability on a wreck would. I have bought many used vehicles in the past 60 years.
My first criteria when used car shopping is ‘has it been in an accident?’
Keep shopping.

I think it might make difference if it is a “wreck” or other type of “damage”. I caught my front bumper on a high curb and the bumper replacement was $7k. There was no structural damage and the bumper is exactly as before. I dread getting dinged on a resale or trade-in due the stigma of a “wreck” on carfax.

Carfax
The CarFax report is different from any I have seen before. It doesn’t detail much. CarFax usually gives a brief description of accident damage, but not this one.
All I see is the word ‘collision.’
If the damage is $18,800 Canadian, it might be ‘only’ around $13,700 U.S.

If it has air suspension and say some rear end damage were components replaced, that would add up quick.

I was worried these were not that reliable with the V6 twin turbos ( I know you still have to maintain them and they are more costly than your typical car) but that makes me feel better for searching for a LS500 vs the LS500H.

That was my thought on this one, but the KM worried me (as well as the price for the amount of km for this one), but might be worth asking the details of the damage as well. Just finding these are difficult on its own lol... was thinking what's the worst that could happen if I get a high km one for the time being (just want something that won't leave me stranded like the German rivals)
