Default Certified Warranty

This may seem like a dumb question, but am I correct in assuming that Lexus will know the exact date when my LS500 reaches the end of its factory warranty due to mileage on the odometer?
This would of course be the beginning of my 2 year unlimited mileage certified warranty.

This is an excellent question and don't know for sure, but since my Lexus App knows exactly the mileage on my odometer, would not be surprised if they have alerts on the service history that show the day you hit 50K miles to start the clock ticking on the Certified warranty.

Just started my second year of the CPO Warranty and put 20K miles on it thus far so the 4 free maintenances are done now.

Put two claims in and honestly those were most likely design defects rather than failures.
Changed out both Massage seats due to hiss that I learned about on this site to the improved design (very expensive repair 11K for both seats) and the fuel door mechanism that stuck a few times.

Default LCertified

Put 600 miles on my LS500 yesterday, hit 50,000 miles near Fort Riley Kansas, so I should have 2 glorious years of unlimited mileage warranty ahead. Big car is the perfect highway machine. I have had it for 18 months and am satisfied with everything but the runflat tread life.
I love punching this car at 75mph.

I purchased a 2023 NX 350 on Thursday 5/2/24. It’s a certified Lexus purchased from a Lexus dealer with 11K miles.

It comes with 2 years, or 20K miles worth of complimentary service with the certified warranty. How rigid are the Lexus dealerships in terms of managing the time frame of this perk for low mileage drivers? In effect, if I drive it 5K per year, will I be getting my 30K service at 20,000 miles. I’ve purchased five prior NEW Lexus vehicles from a couple of different dealerships, and they would let the time slide a bit (they would allow me up to 18 months to do the first 10k oil change). This is my first certified used Lexus, so I’m curious how tight they manage the time frames.

I’ll be checking with my dealer as well, but wanted to know if anyone had experience with this type of thing.

Cheers, Bob

@sajack Saw your comment…..this will be my first set of run flats………

It is recommended to do an oil change at least every 12 months unless the recommended mileage interval comes first so yes, they will be pretty rigid on the maintanance portion to maintain your warranty.

Default 5,000 mile service

Those 5k mile dealer service intervals seem to be mainly for tire rotation and inspecting run-flat tires. Wear is uneven on mine. I’m at 15,000 miles on my run-flats and look to replace them in the next month or two. I suspect Lexus wants to monitor these tires closely and keep owners happy. I’m accustomed to getting 40,000- 50,000 miles out of tires.
Not interested in spending $1,200+ on tires every 18 months.

I plan on getting a Modern Spare for my recently purchased NX 350. I very well may switch over to standard tires after my run flats wear out.
