Powered Seats (16 vs 28 way)
Is there anyone out there with the 16 way seat option that can comment on it's comfort and adjustability relative to the 28 way? As best I understand the LS500 16 way is more-or-less the same adjustments as I have in the 2013+ LS460 (16 way)? And the only way to tell is that the 28-way seats have the extra vertical stitching, but has the complex air bladder system (that have some issues). Lets say I had the 28-way seat but never used the air massage or fine adjustments, would it be just as comfortable as the 16 way? Would the air bladders still break?
Out of 15+ listings I looked at only 1 had the "base" seat, so the base seat is a "rare" option. Lol.
For reference:
16-way "base" seat. No Vertical.
the 28-way "upgraded" seat with air bladders. See the vertical lines.

THe 28 will have a more supple leather than the 16. While the 28 might be finer, I doubt the 16 is uncomfortable at any level.
The airblatter might be an issue but does not seem systemic across the board.

Advanced
Power Knee Bolster
The 28 way seat comes with a power knee bolster which I especially like on long trips. I had my car for several months before I discovered this feature.
Lexus calls it a cushion extender.

What I learned was that there was a design defect in the seat ECU that caused the massage bladders to break and hiss.
This is a very expensive repair that would need the bladders replaced as well as the re-designed seat ECU which is labor intensive. (About $5-6K per seat)
Would hope that the newer LS500's have the new improved design so this won't happen.
I can't see how the massage bladder would break if you did not use this function, but it is a great feature that most would want to utilize.
If anyone ever decides to repair the bladder due to hiss, unless they change the "seat ECU" it will tear the bladder again due to the faulty air pressure profile set.
