Has anyone tried the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 ZP run flat on their LS 500? I made the switch on my last set of tires to go non run flats, and while the ride improved dramatically, I can't help but be concerned everytime I take a long trip about being stranded somewhere remote. I am hoping they have improved the run flats, it is time for a new set of tires.

Default Bridgestone DriveGuards ride much better than the OEMs

I too hated the harsh and noisy OEM Bridgestone tires (par for OEM tires of any brand) and I explored every option for going to my favored Michelins. In the end I bought the Bridgestone DriveGuards and have been pleasantly surprised by the quiet ride. DriveGuards have a 60,000 mile warranty. They are not cheap but they do have a 90-day satisfaction warranty fore a full refund so they may be worth a try.

I have a 2018 LS500 with 20" wheels and the air suspension. I have 23,000 miles on my car and am looking forward to wearing out the factory runflat tires so I can switch to a non-runflat tire. I love everything about my LS except the harsh ride over less than perfect roads that we have in Iowa. I am hopeful that non-runflat tires will fix the one issue I have with my LS.

What tire did you select to replace the OEM runflats?

Swapping out flat run for regular tires made a major difference on my LS 500-2018. I had many moons ago the Flat run tires on my GS. Same issue. Dealer said that flat run tires cause the issue of ride and noise. Went to regular tires. Great. I buy a Lexus LS 500, what does Lexus do-put on flat run tires. Go figure.

Just replaced my OEM Bridgestone run flats on my 2019 LS500 after 19000 miles with Bridgestone Turanza Quiettracks. I noticed the improvement literally as soon as I left the Bridgestone dealer! And they come with an 80,000 mile tread warranty. These should be the last tires I buy for this car. Hopefully anyway!

Default New tires incoming

First reply, sorry if poor etiquette.

Replacing tires on a 2018 LS next Monday. I'll report back but definitely not a huge fan of the stock runflats. At the dealer today for the 25,000 mile service and they mentioned that they can't swap in non-runflat tires so I am welcome to have that done elsewhere. The quoted price to replace with the stock runflats was in the $1,800 range.

Will be going with the in stock Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 at a local tire shop for about $500 less installed and balanced.

Default Regular tires

I had the same issue. My 2019 had Perelli runflat tires. On the highway where the road is just not perfect you can feel the vibrations in the car. And over bumps I felt that it was just a little too harsh. Especially comparing it to my 2016 IS350. So I switched to continental tires. And it made a huge difference. Very noticeable difference in every condition. I’ll never go back to run flat tires.

All I did was drive a few miles home and I could tell the ride is so much smoother and quieter with the ExtremeContacts. I had no idea. My previous car was a '19 BMW 330 which is a great small car but the ride wasn't the shining point. LOL

I have changed out run Flats on other cars and it makes a noticeable difference in ride comfort and it wont be any different for the LS 500. Lowering pressure will make the ride better but its really not recommended to do that especially on run flats. Whatever tire shop you use will be able to tell you what tires are recommended for a better ride on your current vehicle and I think that's the best place to start. FWIW stock tires usually suck in many ways with a few exceptions Im sure,
