If these are to be believed the LS is outselling most competitors.

I cross checked the LS, 7 series and S numbers with another source and they appear accurate. I noticed A8 sales have really tanked.

I'm shocked about the A8 numbers! If I didn't get our 4gen LS then I would have bought an A8. Have always liked Audi design. Maybe buyers were waiting for the new 2019 A8. That has to be a typo and missing a zero.

The A8 is down because of the shift over from the old A8 to the new one. Numbers should improve drastically over the coming months.

The LS460 also had sharp sales declines in the 2017 MY in anticipation of the LS500. However, the A8 sales have really tanked.

Here's the Sept 2018 and YTD sales data

In the Chicago area, there seems to be a number of available 2018 LS 500's that are left. My local dealer said they have 2019's in stock but are not advertising them. Not sure if that means people are waiting for the 2019's but it seems like that might be the case.

A dealer in the Dallas Fort Worth area has 105 2018 LS's in stock between their two locations listed online. 105! They have 100 2019 ES's in comparison.

I'm guessing because of the cost.

Agreed. Cost is due to the luxury of being a relatively early adopter of their technology. I have not driven or ridden in one yet but have read and heard the materials and fitment are not up to par with other vehicles in its price class. You are paying for the technology, performance, and cachet. I mean, gull-wing doors on the Model X don't come cheap. Teslas offer a different sense of luxury and exclusiveness. Anyone in the market for a used 2013+ LS can easily score a used Model S if you don't absolutely need Autopilot.

I've owned a Tesla S for two years and we sold the model s for LS500. In terms of luxury, comfort and quality, LS500 is a world better than model S.

Audi has absolutely screwed it up. They waited too long to revamp their A6, A7 and A8 and the result is what you just saw. Near 0 sales. Also the safety recall of the A6 did not help either. Now Audi wants MSRP price on their A8.
I am in the market for either a 740i x-drive or the LS 500 AWD. What do you guys think? I am getting a 18% discount on the 7. Does the LS have something similar?

Thanks

I just traded in my S8 for my LS. Unless Audi were to come up with a similar warranty on their S8, I wouldn't touch an Audi with a Lexus length piston ring.

Well I bought a 2019 A8 at cost + 0.47% margin, and that's before the incentives I qualify for, and the ones coming in mid 2019 (as they all do for the flagships since no one can afford them).

There were 57 LS500 (2018s) in my area in March 2018, now there are 52.

So.....yeah.

I always find these posts interesting. Cost, margin, incentives but not one number that means anything. How about giving specifics? What was the list price and how much MONEY off?

Wrong. The numbers you want are irrelevant.

Margin is 7% in Audi's and Lexus vehicles in Canada. Period. Cost + margin percent is all that matters. In my case I bought it at 0.47% x MSRP + dealer invoice cost.

The dealer made money not from me but from the 4% holdback from Audi.

That's all the numbers that matter.

I don't think you know how this works.
