Dealership agreed to do it for free. I didn't know our NX didn't have it since I thought it was only 18 and the NX is a 19, next mine.

according to Lexus, its a $199 update. If owners can do it themselves, it saves a lot of time. If we do it, will that impact any sort of warranty ?

Better not - I got the red screen on mine and dealer is doing a service appointment to potentially replace the head unit.

Sure, car turned on, I got the red screen

I think I just have a bad head unit

The fact that they are made by Panasonic or Pioneer shows how old school Toyota is vs Tesla

A car company making / out sourcing software, versus a software company making a car

anyone in MA/Boston area did the Appleplay upgrade? how long did you have to wait at the dealership?

So if I'm reading correctly, we've had 3 people so far apply the update themselves. 2 were successful, and one had a red screen problem and needs a new head unit? Just contemplating whether to try the update myself this weekend.

Head unit ECU

Do it, it's super easy

I probably had a bad LC build anyways - so far - wiper electronics went out, seats were ripping, rear pieces coming off, etc

First year R230 SL500 and first year LC500 Lexus, both have tremendous problems, but the attitude of the dealer in repairing things shows the difference

I won't touch a Mercedes again, even with brand new fresh off boat Maybachs at employee pricing

My Lexus dealer picked up the LC, gave me an ES, and has already ordered a replacement ECU. Once they receive that they will do the update
