Apple CarPlay Retrofit soon?

If you follow the instructions EXACTLY as shown and take your time you'll be fine. It was relatively straightforward for me. It warns you multiple times not to turn the engine off or remove the USB stick, which is where the damage can occur (unless you had a faulty unit to begin with I guess). The most complicated part was turning the lights on and off three times in quick succession, which I practised beforehand lol. The rest of the time you are just sitting there watching it update.

I just had mine updated at the dealer, Heffner Lexus in Kitchener, ON. Works perfectly. I don't know how long it took they had the car for two days due to my schedule a few other items I wanted done. They charged me $70 CAD for the update.

Good to know it's available in Canada. Must just be my dealer is behind with the news. That's a very good price as it's at least 60 - 75 minutes of their time (albeit for something that's simple to perform). I paid $10 for a large enough capacity USB stick plus the value of my time of course....

I went through each menu item afterwards and set things back to how I liked them. It resets most things back to the factory settings so you would need to write things down beforehand (which I didn't bother doing).

Well Lexus only providing this feature in US. Although, Apple CarPlay is fully supported in my country as i have it on my 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. There are no words when Lexus will provide it overseas.
