you buy a subscription on the site on your own for a couple of days, it’s very strange that your dealer didn’t offer an option for a 2020 car / Spain is definitely a lazy country they just don’t want to bother with a siesta all things))) if you don’t do it yourself, you will come to visit our Lexus Poznan

Pane Alexander, thanks a lot for the answer. I have heard that one can download the software from Toyota USA and install it on the vehicle, but the dude here, at Tenerife says it will be illegal and I can lose the warranty of the car. Have you heard something so stupid from a dude, officially representing the Lexus brand, and to be that ignorant? But this is not only him but the lady is also supposed to answer the client's needs and worries and say the same 🙊" Spain can not contribute to this issue"
It seems they do not leave in Europe, but in Spain, which seems to be somehow out of Europe about Lexus issues. I am now searching for some answers in Bulgaria, where I have some friends, and hope to receive positive feedback. If they confirm this installation is possible, then I will attack Lexus Spain in a hard way.
have a nice day and we'll keep in touch
👍 🙏

watchout from trying to install the software yourself. Since couple of guys here had their systems bricked when the dealer themselves tried to install the software. You will need to change the whole system if this happened. Thats is easily a $3-4K mistake. Just get an aftermarket bypass system. I found 2 already one from Japan and one from China

In brief, you can damage the system during the update, and the only solution is to replace the system.

thanks for reminding me of this;-))) I will never try to do it myself, I've already been warned if something goes wrong, I will lose the warranties. I also can't be sure how I can lose the warranties by doing so...In any case, if Lexus can't do it, I won't do it either

Pan Alexander, sorry to bother you again, but I need a clear answer and hope you can provide me with that:
Is this upgrading legal if I do it myself? Or the Honduran dude from my local Lexus can say: you have done something we did not recommend and now you lose your warranties? I do not know if you work in Lexus Poznan, but do not mind driving there and fixing that nightmare of AppleCare Play, as long as I don't void the warranties
best regards
Lubomir

The 2018 NX, RC, RC F, LC, and LS can all receive the Apple CarPlay retrofit from our Certified Lexus Service Center. there is an update even for all Toyotas from 2018

and so there are two options : EU car and US car
1:dealer
2: download the updates yourself from the Toyota-Lexus website and install https://www.lexus-tech.eu/ in 3 hours, just watch the instructions very carefully.
my 500 awd will arrive within a week and if there is no option in it, then I myself will have to download software for America since it is from there, but I have already done this on other Lexus models after 2018
Mr.Alexander, I subscribed to the link you provided above, but got 2 emails , telling me they do not support software update for Apple car Play.
So,what is wrong in your post? maybe the link itself?

I NEED to ask this... in the 2018+.... I know a lot people were interested in Apple Carplay but, I am interested in Android Auto. I prefer an Android device. I did see one other asking about it but no reply.

So, when you upgraded to the new kit, did it come with a Android Auto option on a 2018+ OR is it ONLY Apple Carplay?

I just got the software update and the LSB#: L-SB-0028-19 I used stated only Apple Carplay and Amazon Alexa for 2018-2019. Didn’t say anything about Android Auto and not sure if there is another LSB specifically for that. Sorry .

On a side note: The CarPlay update does make a huge difference and I am much happier with it now.

LSB = Lexus Technical Service Information Bulletin

These are bulletins pushed out by Lexus Corporate (i.e Toyota Corporate) to dealerships that are updates/fixes/repairs.

They have specific unique numbers for each bulletin hence the L-SB-0028-19 which is specifically for the Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa update for the 2018 LS500/LS500h.
