Hello guys,
I just wonder if there is a difference between a Lexus LS 500h, sold in the USA, and the same model sold in Europe? My car is registered in 2020, but I guess it is a 2019 model of production.
This concerns me a lot as I receive email from Lexus Spain, in which they tell me my car can not have Apple Play. I know, you guys, in the USA have it already installed. So what is wrong with
Lexus Europe, if there is no difference between the cars in USA and Europe. They want me to give up, but I read the forum here and am kind of not giving up ...yet
Any supportive answer is deeply appreciated

 

CarPlay is only available on 2021 LS models.

you got your car 1 year too early.

there might be aftermarket solutions for you to look into though but Lexus is right. No support for 2020.

 

yes, this answer I got from the official Lexus Spain, but in the USA and here, on this forum, there are many guys having Apple Play installed from the dealer. How about that? What is wrong with Lexus Europe?

 

In the US we were allowed to get CarPlay installed on the vehicles by going to the original dealership for free. It is also an option to purchase it from the dealer, I think the price was $199 USD. I would try and make a stink about it to Lexus Corp and see if they will budge, not sure how it is in the EU. I have an 18 and got the carplay installed for free from the dealership I purchased the vehicle from.
