Hello All,
I have a 2021 LS 500 which I got a month ago. I've noticed over this month that when I first drive the car in the morning there is a jerking when the transmission is shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. However as the car gets warmer/drive more I don't experience the jerking. I bought this car from the local Lexus dealer, CPO. I'm bringing in the car for service this week to get it checked out. Has anyone else had this issue and if so what was the root cause?
Thanks.

There was a known trans shifting issue on 2018's and maybe 2019's. I would think that's all figured out by 2021.
I would bet you just need the transmission learning "reset". A dealer could do that.

Hello All,
Just wanted to give an update after my Lexus service visit. The mechanic was able to replicate the issue and found a technical bulletin for my car:
February 7, 2022 MANUFACTURER COMMUNICATION NUMBER: L-SB-0003-22
Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEMNHTSA ID Number: 10209002
Manufacturer Communication Number: L-SB-0003-22
Summary
TSB: All 2021 ? 2022 model year LS 500 vehicles may exhibit a surge/bucking condition when applying
throttle of less than 20 percent. This condition is only felt after the vehicle has cold soaked and
reduces as the vehicle warms up. The condition is no longer present once the vehicle reaches
operating temperature.
The Engine Control Module (ECM) (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) logic has been
revised to address this condition. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address
this condition
Once the EMC module was updated I don't have the issue any longer.

Wow Lexus is getting lazy, I can’t believe they’d have this kind of problems after 4+ years of production.

not only that but sloppy of the dealer to sell a CPO car with an active service advisory and not implementing the fix before handing over the car. That should be illegal and at minimum looks sloppy on the dealer as well. All around not a good look.

Hi bee144,
I agree with you, but I think that it was not done during the certification because it was based on if the car exhibited the issue, which they did not experience. In the bulletin it used the word "may". It's still kind of sloppy especially when you purchase a car for such a high price!![Egads!](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/pat.gif)
