Motor Oil at Lexus Dealer
Are Lexus dealers required to use Lexus oil, or can they just use any motor oil as long as it is the correct spec?
I would be comfortable knowing they use Toyota/Lexus branded oil vs. some cheap bulk stuff.
This may sound picky, but it’s my car and my money.
it would be nice if the customer could watch a live video of his car being serviced. This doesn’t seem unreasonable on a $100k car.
This is especially true if the customer requests and is charged extra for full synthetic motor oil.

I don't know, but I'd be surprised if there even were such a thing as Toyota Oil or Lexus Oil. Dealers can use whatever brand of oil they want. I wouldn't sweat it too much, but if it's really important to you, you should go to a reputable independent Lexus specialist for oil changes, and bring the new oil with you. I use Mobil 1 European Car Formula ($60 for a case of 12 quarts at WalMart) in all my cars, including the McLaren, for which it is spec'd as OEM. The shop won't charge you any less just because you brought the oil, but they'll probably let you watch if you ask nicely.

Exxon mobile makes it for Toyota so its basically Mobil1 or spec'd by toyota.
I'd think it would be a breach for them to NOT use genuine parts.
About 7 years ago wife and I had an audi A4 avant that had 60kmiles on it burn oil to the degree the engine needed replacement or they would buy the car back at a very nice price (we opted for that).
Because we did all the oil changes there it was a very easy event. We bought the new and car was serviced by them. They could not have been nicer. We bought another Audi and they also gave us 18% off MSRP also.
They took care of us as best they could. Was it worth going to the "stealership"? Yes.
I'd would not be concerned at all with the quality of oil used by them. Independant can screw you over. Even if you walked in with a case of oil, unless see them pouring it in they could swap it out.

Dealer is under no obligation legal or otherwise to use Toyota brand oil unless you are specifically charged for it.

I don't get why anyone would take their car to a dealership in the first place you are nearly guaranteed to pay more for same or inferior service.

I don't work at a Toyota dealership. I can tell you for sure some dealers use bulk oil of unknown origin, the invoice (several I've seen) does not specify oil brand just viscosity. The oil may be good or not there is no way to know.

Your driving a 22 year old ES. Im sure its lovely and kept very well. Not sure i'd be bring in a 22 year old car to a dealership.
Im not being a snob but many of us paid some good money for our LS500 and most of our cars are far from high mileage. with a 7 year 70k drivetrain warranty on these models I just gave you another good reason why. Does not mean one has to use them to uphold the warranty, but it makes it harder for them to wiggle out of it if one does.
Reason three.
OIl changes? Most of us can do them ourselves. Better have receipts for the purchase of Oil if one has to justify the car has been maintained.
Lets look at the question again. OP wanted to know about what Oil Toyota uses.
Best thing is to ask the dealer themselves and get the answer?

I’m using the dealer because the car is under warranty.
That puts me in a much better position than if I were getting it changed at some independent place.
I have used dealerships with other vehicles ( even had them stamp my book) while the vehicle was still under warranty. Service ticket listed the car mfr. brand oil as well as part number. However, I always wondered if maybe the tech. used bulk oil and kept the good stuff for himself.
Yes, Lexus does have oil in bottles with its name on it.
