LS400 Hidden Features

When the key is in the ignition and you lock the doors manually, they will automatically unlock.
Speaking of locks, does anyone know how to set the car to automatically lock the doors when put in Drive?

This was standard on most high end JDM cars (Toyota Crown, Nissan Cima etc.)

I would not do this. This features is to set the soft stops after repair ect.. What you are doing is letting the motor stall out on the hard stop and putting the entire force of the motor on the gearing. It will definitely wear your gearing prematurely. It would be like holding your steering wheel against he motor until it stalls.

Does anyone know if its possible to get the first gen 1991 LS to flash the indicators when locking and unlocking the car with the remote?
I always have to look inside the car for the alarm led to make sure or check the doorhandle. Dont want to let it be parked unlocked because i didnt push the remote properly.
The "problem" is that the door mechanism is so quit so i cant always hear if it locks the doors.

Yes i know but like i wrote i have to look inside the car to see if its locked. Many times im in a hurry and closes the door and walk away and then find the keys and push the button.
There is not much remote key if i have to stay right beside the window and push the button to make sure its locked if you know what i mean.
If the indicartors were blinking or the siren made a sound i know its locked. Just like a normal alarm.
I just dont want to install a new alarm system just to get those features. And i want to use the button that is on the key instead of having another thing hangning with my keys. Got so many keys already.

I noticed when I have my rear view mirror dim switch on, when someone has bright lights not only does the rear view mirror dim but the outside mirrors change to a color of blue. I do not know if that is standard on all LS4's. This is on my 96 LS4.

There was no audible "chirp" when the gen 1 90-92 LS400 was locked/unlocked with the remote -- at least on models sold in the U.S. I think the feature was added for the 1993 model year.
