What I did with mine was, I bought a used one from the J/Y for $25 and got a rebuild kit for my old one and just rebuilt it while driving with the used one. Still using the used one and now I have a rebuilt pump for when this one goes. I still think your problem has to do with your O2 sensors, but then again, a clogged cat might also do it. Try again unhooking the exhaust, this time before the cat, but wouldn't that throw off all the sensors and the ECU? If it seems to be fixed with the exhaust undone, it could still be the O2 sensor. Test them to see if they read right. Sorry to hear that the stealership couldn't diagnose it for ya, especially in all that time they had it.
Thanks for the tip deanshark on the P/S I may do same

The dealership just had internet blocked by the dealership (keeping them hard at work I'm guessing and no chance of downloading viruses etc.

Just a reminder again to everyone below video shows typical perf issues - turn the volume up!

Car either seems to be like JimsGX suggestion on Sept 1st starving for fuel due to clogged injectors, or the cats are plugged not allowing it to breathe or SOMETHING wierd in the sensors etc - I'll try the O2 to at least clear up the codes and if still not performing try unhooking before the catalytic converters. Man I tell ya the smoothness of the Lexus has ALOT to do with the exhaust, when you unhook it the car shakes like a tank each smash of a piston sends a vibration through the car!

Read on youtube someone with same acceleration issues (vid of slow 0-60 on same car)said a Lexus Guru (ones Lexus calls in when their own mechanics can't diagnose) said the problem was with the torque converter.

Thoughts?

You can fix the leaking P/S pump yourself using genuine Lexus parts and cheap hand tools for $30.

Default Problem solved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

THANKS TO A KIND FELLOW FROM VA ROLEXUS400 PROVIDED ME WITH THE ANSWER TO MY PERFORMANCE PROBLEMS

NOT LEXUS
NOT MY LOCAL MECHANIC

NO-ONE THOUGHT OF THIS BUT HIM

AND I KNOW THERE'S OTHERS OUT THERE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM LIKE Och AND CANADIANCRAIG...........

THE PROBLEM IS AS THE CAR GETS OLDER, THE INSULATION ON THE HOOD DRAPES DOWN CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE AIR INTAKE NEAR THE BATTERY. WHEN YOU STOMP ON IT THE INSULATION SUCKS DOWN OVER AND PLUGS THE AIR BREATHER HOLE LIKE YOUR HAND OVER A VACUUM CLEANER HOSE AND KILLS THE MOTOR'S ABILITY TO BREATHE.

ON HIS ADVICE I LOOKED AND NOTICED THE INSULATION WAS SAGGED AND BENT DOWN (FROM BEING SUCKED ON) SO I REMOVED THE BREATHER EXTENSION FROM ABOVE THE RADIATOR AND WENT FOR A SPIN.

PERFORMANCE RESTORED!

CAN'T THANK HIM ENOUGH

HE MAY HAVE SAVED ME THOUSANDS.

THIS SHOULD BE PUT AS A STICKY FOR OTHERS TO LOOK OUT FOR.

I think I read that somewhere, but thought it was a one off type of fix, not something that would affect others. Funny, but not.

I called my Lexus dealer and told them what the problem was. They called me back and thanked me for sharing the information. He said since Lexus built a vehicle in 1990 he had never come across this yet admits that no doubt has had customers leave undiagnosed with this problem. Said he would share the information with everyone in the dealership for the future.
