Thanks

Electric Scissor Jack. I bought the Made-in-China blackjack from walmart (this jack is stronger and tougher than the oem lexus scissor jack), mate it with 24mm socket, drive it with a Hitachi impact wrench. This assembly can easily raise the heavy LS4.
(anyone mind teaching me on how to post pics on the forum using photobucket?)

just click on 'img code' and it will automatically put it as your copy file. then all you have to do is press 'cntl v' and it will paste it when your have clicked in the text box of your choosing.
and i must say, thats some creative thinking on the scissor jack, might have to try that.

Why don't you just use that hydraulic jack in the pic instead of a scissor jack?

Drive belt idler bearing and tensioner bearing replacement
I have some noise (like bird crying, what's the correct word?) at the serpentine belt area. After taking the belt off, I spinned the idler pulley and tensioner pulley. You will immediately know if the bearing is bad by doing that.
I bought the bearings from amazon for $2.50 a piece (part number:6203-2RS, 6301-2RS)

I went to a machine shop in town. Shop owner Mike used his old and wonderful press to get the old bearings out, and put the new bearings in. I was charged $10 for the work. Another machine shop quoted me $50.
Mike got the press from his father, the press was almost 100 year old. This is not a hydraulic press. It is completely man-powered.
The pics showed Mike with his press, and the pulley on the press.

Pulleys with new pressed-in bearings. Old bearings are also shown in the pic. So, a total of $18 (part and labor) got me two perfectly fine pulleys. Thank you clublexus.com and each member, I got all of my information from the forum.
