Please do help, if you can point me to any already written reviews, that will be gladly appreciated. I know they look different, and that the engines are different, but I am looking for opinions between those who upgraded from their 98-00 400's to the 430's or for those who still currently own both.

i think it all comes down to which body style u prefer.

the ucf20 98 to 00 has a leaner, kinda boxier look. The ucf30 is taller, and a bit more modern in design.

when fixed up VIP style, a lot of times I prefer the older 98 to 00 leaner, longer boxed out look.

Just got rid of my 99 LS400 for a 2004 430 this week, so far:

1) 430 much better looking, my 99 LS looked very old, and I think the 430 looks like a younger mans car, as I am only 40.
2) 430 much faster, smoother shifting, slightly better MPG, 6 speeds make a difference, I can't tell when it shifts.
3) 430 Seats are better, but I am used to german seats, some say they are too hard. I think they are just right. Also, more adjustments. I think the BMW 7 series seats are the best in the world
4) 430 Suspension is better, not floaty, but planted. Just perfect.
5) LS400 stereo is better, regret not getting Mark Levenson, base 430 stereo really is pretty poor sounding. Very surprised actually.
6) LS400 leather is more real/better, 430 leather seems a little artificial.
7) LS400 had leather on door armrest, 430 does not, just plastic.
8) 430 wood is much better, and more of it.
9) 430 storage places are better, the door bins are fantastic!
10) Hopefully the 430 will not break something every month like my 99 LS.
11) 430 does not have that stupid green headlight 'on' light that annoyed the hell out of me at night, 430 still has one but it is much smaller, and less noticeable.

That's about it, get a 430, you deserve it !
