WTB: LS400 Rear Speaker
Ok, I drive an IS300 but my friend drives a 93' LS400. She blew the speaker all the way in the back and I was just looking around to see if anyone had one.
I do not know anything about the LS400 so a question for you. Throughout what years did Lexus keep that rear speaker by itself and would a different year speaker work back there?
Thanks a lot,
Viraj

rear woofers
Hello out there. I have been offline for two months, but here is the story
on the 8" rear woofer. I have a '93 out of my car that is in perfect condition.
All that is necessary is to solder the connecting wires to the terminals.
I was told that to use more than a 2ohm speaker will decrease the volume
output. I will sell it for $75 bucks as one from the dealer costs $225. I
also have one from a '94 LS400 with the fitting intact to connect the
wires. I will sell this one for $100. I am interested in information about
rubber spacers to put under the bottom of the springs to lift the car about
one or two inches. Anyone got any info?

Woofers for LS400
Yes, skytrain, I still have both of them. I really don't know what kind of speaker is in the car now. I went
to a local car audio store, and they installed a speaker with a larger magnet and added an amp with
a few watts of power to help power it. I can't really tell you that it sounds any better; it's very easy to over-
power that bass and make it rumble which destroys any semblance of good sound. I was probably just
as well off with the original. They are both in perfect shape as far as I can tell. I was never one to blast
sound. I am a musician and what I really wanted was quality. I would much rather have a coaxial setup
in the rear than just a woofer, and I even have two of the finest 6"x9" speakers Altec Lansing makes, but
they cannot be installed in this car. Too bad. The car that they are in sounds much better than the Lexus
does. Well, enough of that. I do have the speakers, and except for the fact that the audio shop unsoldered
the wires from the terminals of the '93, both are in perfect shape as far as I can tell.
