WTB: 3 tiny black base bulbs for 90 LS400 climate control
My 1990 LS400 does not light up the clock and climate control display at night. I have removed the bulbs but the dealer does not have new ones. These are 3mm diameter 12volt bulbs with a black plastic base about 6mm diameter and a blue plastic cap to change the color of the light. See them in the upside-down picture included here. I need 3 of these.
Otherwise I will buy some "grain of wheat" bulbs with he long wire leads, then dissemble the old bulbs from their bases and reassemble with the new bulbs, bending the leads around the base like the current ones are.

Drat! The NEO4 bulbs look exactly the same, but they are only 60% as large as the ones in the LS400. So I will need to take the old ones apart and rebuild them with new bulbs.

I ordered a kit of 7 bulbs from Jim Walker. He currently charges $25 including shipping. They fit perfectly. You just have to squeeze your blue and green rubber covers off the old bulbs and move them to the new ones. Drop him an email at TheLexpert@yahoo.com
Oh, and the 4th time I removed the ashtray I broke the little plastic latch. I was getting too casual and fast after having done it 3 times before. My superglue repair is holding so far.
It's great finally being able to read the clock after dark!
