I am VERY interested....Can I install the ML in place of my non ML radio? What are the pitfalls?

i don't know if it fits on a non navi unit but if the plugs on the back are the same maybe it should work??

Depending on positioning, you might end up with a gap that you'd have to patch up somehow. The ML face is smaller than the non-nav face.

Does the ML system have special speakers as well as the unit itself? If so, you would need the speakers to achieve the same ML sound.

Couple questions,

Is it a scratch on the top part to the right of the hazard switch?

Was the unit working well before you replaced with the after market? Especially the cd changer?

This look like the head unit on my 01, I wonder if it's the same plugs in the back?

yes it is a lilttle scratch on the right part of harzard switch. it was working fine, but i just decided to go aftermarket audio for some free custom work dat was done to the car.
if you have same style ML system , plugs should be the same!
