What Does 6/32 Mean for Tire Wear?
My service invoice for my LS said that my tires are at 6/32. Now I don't believe that 32/32 is a new tire. Can anyone explain this?

I am sure that you are right about that but how does the scale work? Is 6/32 half of the tread because full is 12/32? Or ?????? Also, what is typical for replacement?

A new tire in my case with Michelins is 9/32 and anything beyond 3/32 is probably down to the wear-bars and should be replaced. My lease requires that the remaining tread on the tires when the car is returned be 3/32. Some tires may start with more tread - like 11/32.
I noticed on my last service visit my tires had 7/32 left and the service report for all four tires showed 4/32. I assume this is to reflect the usuable tread left but I found it to be a little confusing. I haven't seen this done this way before but it might sell more tires.

correct, 12/32 is original, but now you have less than 1/2 way. coz' when it is 2/32, it's time to get new tires. it will show on your indication bar as well
