LS 460 Sport / LS 460 SZ for 2010
On the heels of the 2010 LS refresh brochure info....
Here's some tidbits that were collected earlier:

From the U.S. dealer rumor mill, this model is headed for our shores, informally called the "LS Sport" model. I wonder how interested our forum members will be in such a variant. I suppose it depends on the specs...and price...

Lexus LS460 SZ sports sedan in the works
June 2009
As you may know already, because we reported back in December, Lexus is preparing a sport version of the LS460 flagship sedan. Today we were lucky and thanks to the Japan’s Best Car Magazine, we found out that the new vehicle will carry the SZ badge (and not LS-F as we thought).
The new vehicle will feature a new body kit consisting in a new front and rear bumper, new side sills but also a new black chrome front grille. Also, the new sports sedan will feature a Brembo braking system and a new set of BBS alloy wheels. The price tag of the Lexus LS460 SZ will be around $94,425 which means that will be less expensive than the 2010 Mercedes-Benz S63 and S65 AMG!

News just in from Japan: in its July issue, Best Car magazine is reporting that Lexus will reveal a sportier variant of its LS 460 luxury sedan at the Tokyo Motor Show in October. The magazine claims that the car will carry the SZ moniker and that it will feature a subtle aerokit that includes a new grille treatment plus uprated Brembo brakes and BBS alloy wheels shod in chunkier tires. The LS 460 SZ is estimated to cost in Japan between 9 and 10 million Yen or around to $100,000 US.
There's no mention of any upgrades under the hood so it is possible that the SZ may simply be a special Japanese-market model / trim-level. But as is the case with these kind of rumor-reports, we'll just have to wait for Lexus to come out with something official before we make any definite conclusions.

interesting...i wonder if people will say that the body kit looks tacked on like on the HS and thereby like the corolla
they are also really experimenting with new interior colors...but I have to say not with the same effect as MB

Also new for 2010 is an optional Sport Package for the rear-wheel drive LS 460. Combining the Aero kit's exterior styling with special air suspension tuning parameters and exclusive interior features, it ups the driving experience for those interested in more than A to B transport. The appearance package can be purchased separately if you'd rather have the look without the stepped-up handling. Whether you choose the full treatment or just the sport-look, you'll get a unique front grille, front lower spoiler, side skirts, and rear lower spoiler, plus 19-inch five-spoke wheels.
So its just a Sport Package. No SZ, no F-sport.....Guess we'll get more pics from the Tokyo show..

Can you get the stepped up handling without the look?
Wheels are nice though.

meh - i don't know about this.
LS is all about luxury. it was never intended to be a sporty drive. i don't get the obsession with making "sporty" luxury cars. if that is what i wanted i would go with a Porsche - a real sports car.
of course, i would like to take it for a spin to see if there is any real difference.
