Default Tire with slow air leak

My rear tire has a slow air leak and eventually will throw the TPMS light. I'd put more air in and a couple weeks later same thing happens. I took the tire off and look for nail etc. Nothing is there to puncture the tire. Put some soap water on the valve stem and no bubble -- no leak there.

So what's the issue? Why is it leaking air? Any idea? This is happening on only one rear tire. The other three maintain pressure perfectly.

Your rim could be bent or if it is chrome it could be peeling around the bead.

I took the tire/wheel off the car for better visual inspection. Searched every inch of the tire...no nail or puncture that I can find. No chrome peeling because the wheel is not chromed. But there is no peel, chip, crack or bend on the wheel that I can see. I'm loosing about 3 psi/week for that ONE tire/wheel. The other three are are solid.

Put the tire in teh bucket of water. You'll see where it's leaking from. If you don't have a bucket to accommodate, go to a Gas Station or Tire Shop where the patch the tires and for $10 they'll find and patch the leak, as long as it's not a bent or peeling rim.

If there are no visible punctures, nails etc, then I would have a tire shop remount it and put in a new valve. If it still leaks then it may be a hairline crack in the rim etc.

I had the same problem a few weeks ago. Tire shop took the tire off, and there was residue on the wheel that prevented the seal on the tire to be completely sealed to avoid the leak.. My tire was brand new and the leak kept going until the 3rd try. All they did was cleaned it up and it was fine. So far so good.. no more slow leak.

I had the same problem, It was the nut that held the valve sem on. Check the nut to see if it is lose.

If you have a metal valve, the nut is on the valve stem next to the rim. It is how they tighten the valve stem to the rim.

Is the whole stem is the "nut" and you can just put a wrench in to tighten? See pic.

That is the nut assy. It takes a 11mm socket. Just put it on and tighten it, if it is lose. If it is tight then you have a leak some place else.
