Extended warranty Lexus VS Toyota
While at my local Lexus dealer here in central Fl. I questioned the financial guy about why there were different prices for these extended warranty's depending on the dealership. He told me they are all the same for Lexus warranty in the southeast Toyota area and that there were 3 different Toyota areas in the USA. He said there are differences between what a Toyota Dealer warranty would cover and what a Lexus dealer warranty would cover. I noticed that on previous threads on this subject that the cheapest were from Toyota dealers, so does that mean the coverage is less than the Lexus dealer warranty? I am getting ready to purchase an extended warranty for my 2008 LS460 so I need to know which way to go.

I believe it is the same warranty (assuming you are pricing Platinum or Gold) at either Toyota or Lexus dealerships.
If you want to be on the safe side, I purchased from Toby Rivers at Lexus of Shreveport (1-888-226-6084). His prices were basically the same as Troy Dietrich at Greenfield Toyota and Jerry Johnson at Midwest Toyota. I think there was a $25 difference between the 3 of them.
All three have received sterling recommendations on this site.

Seems I read, on one of my motorcycle forums, that if you're a FL resident you can't buy extended warranties from out-of-state dealerships/sources.
Pretty big brotherish protectionism.

I live in Az and got mine from a Toyota dealership in Massachusetts . I actually got the extended warranty for my GS350 from them as well. They are great. The contact is Troy Dietrich and Toyota of Greenfield. They are well know for selling extended warranties at rock bottom prices. They have been around for years

I worked with Jerry Johnson at Midwest Toyota, great guy great price. Last time I have problem with my navigation HDD and screen, I think that's a $14,000 fix. The dealer don't even have to ask me for any paper. They have my extended warranty in their computer. So just buy the extended warranty from Toyota dealer, it's the same..

Jerry Johnson for Platinum Warranty
I used Jerry Johnson; he is as good as it gets. Gave me the best price of the three or four usually mentioned and handled the process very professionally. Also, a really nice guy to chat with!

How much should I expect to pay for an extended warranty from one of the contacts listed? I recently purchased a 2009 LS 460 with 36K miles from JM Lexus. I got a very good price, but it wasn't CPO. JM Lexus tried to sell me some ridiculously expensive extended warranties, but I’m curious what I should expect to pay.

Here are excerpts from posts here over the last couple years (keep in mind prices may have changed. BTW, Toby's prices were the same even after that Feb 1, 2011 date)-
Troy Dietrich,Toyota of Greenfield. (413) 772-0231 $2155 for a Lexus, Platinum, 7yr/100,000mile, $1655 for 7/75k.
I called greenville toyota today and talked to Troy. He quoted me a price of 2100 for a 7/100 extended warranty. I can not believe it. I had the 1st quote of 3850 from a dealer in Houston for the same warranty. I will definately use greenville Toyota for my extended warranty. Thanks Davedan for your help. I owe you.
Toby Rivers at Lexus of Shreveport is providing very good pricing until Feb 1. I bought a Platinum $0 Deductible 8yr/75,000 warranty $1795 for 8year/75k miles
Toby Rivers
8/75000 $1765
8/100000 $2485
1-888-226-6084
Jerry Johnson
Midwest Toyota
1-800-530-5789
I got the 8 year, and the car in service date was 12/22/2006, so I have another 4 years and a month of warranty coverage for the $1765
Just purchased a 7/100 extended warranty from Jerry Johnson at Midwest toyota for $2040.

My 07 had the valve spring replacement recall and Lexus extended the mileage warranty out to 100K but no extention on the years.
I still haven't figured out the best way to go on my situation as yet but would like to keep the car a few more years.

They extended your power train warranty to 100,000, not your bumper to bumper warranty...
