chrome grill
#3
I just did that to my grill this weekend and it was a pain (but it does look sharp!)! I used a spray on paint/varnish remover I bought at home depot and it did not harm the chrome surface. But I still had to scrape it all off. I still have a lot of black paint in the back where you can;t really see, but I'd love to get mine as clean as this one! I really want to know how he removed the paint.

toothbrushes
I used stripper from home depot as well, 4 toothbrushes, 8 pairs of rubber gloves, fine grain steel wool and a whole lot of patience. True enough it is a pain but I just did about an hour a day for about 3 days. After the majority of the paint was removed the steel wool and soap and water got the rest.

dishwasher might not be a great idea
When I first started I removed a lot of paint with the stripper then hit it with the pressure washer-did not do very much. If you were to put it in the dishwasher for heat-remember it is plastic and plastic melts. I would be afraid to try that. Nothin like hard finger labor!

argh!
I started to work on my grill. I got most of it off, but the rest is being stubborn. Going to put another layer of stripper on it and let it set overnight. Looks like ill be driving around with no grill for a day
My power washer helped get the paint off the flatter surfaces. the sponges with the abrasive side also helped. Toothbrush is a pain in the *** and it doesnt completely gets all of the paint off.
Ill keep you guys updated. Pics will come when I'm done

Yea, I just got my grille done, and it looks perfect, actually didn't take long at all, just go to Home Depot and get 1 spray can of varnish/stripper remover w/ about 4 hard toothbrushes at the dollar store and it will get the job done pretty fast.
