Safety issue. Engine started and reved to 6,000 rpm, twice!
I bought a 2004 LX470 with 285K miles on it. The car drives with no issues. I anve driven 1500 miles and only changed the AHC fluid. Twice on the same day I started the engine and it reved to 6,000 rpm Not one start after the other but on the same day. On both occasions I shut off the key immediately.
On the first occasion I thought " did I have my big foot on the brake pedal and the throttle pedal"? On the second occasion my foot was only on the brake pedal.
The only thing I had done apart from changing the AHC fluid as per the IH8MUD instructions was to reconnect a cable connector in the engine compartment that I had found to be disconnected.
Two pics of the connector are attached.
What is the cable for?
Could it be in any way associated with my engine reving at 6000?
This connector is currently disconnected.
This is a male/female inline spade connector.
