Night Vision worth it?
Does anyone here think that the night vision is worth it or that big of a deal? I was bidding on an LX but didn't know if I should dive for the option. Let me know. Thanks!

To me its just a gimmick. Life will be no different with or with out it. I call it excess luggage. But hey we Americans are nothing but spoiled consumers anyway so buy buy buy.

I drive rural roads, two lane roads sometimes with little or no shoulders. My wife in the past has hit a coyote at night. Our thoughts were (we did get night vision) if we could see the animals just a few seconds earlier and avoid a collison then the night vision pays for itself. Due to work (M.D.) I often have to drive in the dead of the night. The additional peace of mind is worth the cost.

Night Vision ( I have it on my 2003 LX470)
Totally worth the extra money. (If you have friends to show it off to and YOU are right it is a gimmick)
It's a toy, nothing more. (you can't watch the small screen and watch the road at the same time)
Not practical (but it does make your LX more exlusive)
I do not live on back roads but when I do take side routes it does help and probably would catch my eye if something jumped out in front of me. (colorado)
I have used it maybe 20 times. More than half of those to impress or show the features of my ride off to my friends and family.
My opinion- Check it out at night, most dealerships close around 8:00 p.m. around here, so take a little drive and tell the salesman that you want to test it out.
You could spend the money on a nice tint job and cool wheel upgrade (20 inches or 22 inches)

I think it all depends on where you live and what experiences you have had. I've hit a deer and live in Colorado where there are deer, antelope, elk, coyotes, bears etc. all over the place. Hell, last summer I had a sow bear and her cub on my back porch. It's the same with the Lexus Link. I saw an accident last month that had 4 kids thrown from the car when it rolled twice. I was glad to have the Lexus Link and use it immediately. Most people think it's crap, but when you need it it's nice. I will have the Night vision on my next LX. It may not same me a deer in the grill, but it might help the odds of it not happening too. Might help resale value, might not, but I'm a gadget freak and love all the toys!!!
