Are the shifters compatible between a 98 and 2000?
I want to upgrade the leather one in a '98 to the wood/leather on the 2000 model. I've already ordered one but just wanted to make sure before I pay for it (2-3 days for the order to arrive). How difficult is it to perform the swap? Thank you for taking the time t read this!

I can't answer your question, but I've seen the wood shifters for sale on ebay and the sellers claim they'll fix (just like the wood vs. leather steering wheel). I've been thinking about swapping the shifter and steering wheel on my 98 to the wood. Where did you buy the shifter and how much did it cost you?

After spending a frustrating amt of time (Lexus was of no help, they need a dedicated support hotline for the techs. Acura has one, why not Lexus? ) trying to find the answer, a simple google search yielded the answer I was looking for. The shifter itself will fit but the overdrive on/off switches are different and will not work. Since I want to leave my towing options open I decided against installing it. The handle itself cost me $248.XX, list ~$300, the 7 other parts needed to complete the handle ~ $100 (with 17% discount). I ended up paying a re-stock fee of 10% (vs the ripoff 20% they wanted). A total waste of my time. RAU in Los Angeles states they will do the handle on their www site but after calling they will tell you it isn't worth their time to tool up for it. Had I known this I probably would have continued looking for a clean 2000-01 model
