Does anyone know if this is a direct swap or did they change it completely?

I beleive they are identical grills. The only difference is that the '03+, they didn't paint those 2 bars black. If you take your grill off and use paint remover, you can get a chromed grill. I did a half @ssed job on mine and it still looks good. Just remove the grill and take off that rubber lining above it. then spray some really strong paint remover and a toothbrush should take all of it off.
