Question Power windows (all except driver side) don't work

Right now on my 99 LX470 the power windows don't work for passenger side and rear (driver side is ok). They don't work either from the driver side control panel or each individual switch. The power window lock switch is up so I would assume it's not engaged. What could the problem be and I would like to fix this myself if it's something minor. I'm going to check the fuses first (according to the owner's manual, fuse #19 and 32 have something to do with power windows but other components on those two work ok). Any other suggestion?

Probably a bad connection somewhere. If it works anything like the 450, the main controller for your windows is inside the driver's side door. If you have a bad connection, loose wire, short, etc, you can experience problems. Check there first.

what i would do is probably wait and see. sometimes it's just the change in weather. my auto moonroof sometimes doesnt doesn't work with auto, meaning u have to push it down the whole time to open it, but after a while, the auto feature would work. If you don't want to wait, what i would do is have my lexus dealer check it out. It's probably some reprograming in the window system.

Got price quotes for the master control switch: For LandCruiser it's ~350 and LX version is ~600. I would think they're exactly the same? Thanks.

They are the same. To make things worse...all the parts I've seen come out of the Lexus service dept for my 450 have come out of a bag or box with a Toyota label on it!

Get the less expensive one.

Check the switch before you do anything.

Well, I've been looking for used master control switch and today something happened: my 10 month baby was in the car and he was pressing the remote keys like crazy and guess what, all windows now function properly. Looks like he reset the system somehow and come to think of it, he must be the culprit in the first place who messed up the power window system! Saved my some money.

I had the same problem and it turned out not to be a problem at all. In my case it was just the winow lock-out button had be depressed - LOL.
