So the Toyota Tundra, 4runner and Landcruiser are all getting the VVTi, which provides a significant HP and fuel mileage increase, wonder why the LX isn't getting it?

hmm, i never noticed that! so the Lx doesn't, or isn't going to get the 275hp engine, like the 05 Gxs will get???

night vision's been out since the 03 model, color-Blizzard Pearl- not sure if it's a new color FOR the Lx cuz the Gx had the color ever since mid-03. you wouldn't happen to have the newer, improved nav system, would you? cuz we had a thread in the other forum, that someone posted pix of his Land Cruiser that has a more updated nav system, which only added the feature of locating someone's house or place thru their phone numbers (if listed in the local phone book).

That was me who posted the pics. I believe the new nav came out in '04 for both the LC and the LX. The GX may not of had it in '04.

Seems strange, I bet it has the VVTi motor. I saw a 2005 Sequoia at the Lexus/Toyota dealer the other day and it has the VVTi motor. I would bet that it is in all of the trucks/SUV's that get the 4.7 V8. The reason the HP is different between models is that in the GX and 4runner they have to use smaller headers that cuts down on the HP's (not as much room in the engine bay area). The VVTi does not change the torque much (only a couple of ft. lbs) and the HP is only changed at the higher rpm levels but the real reason you would want it is for the better mpg.
