Click Here to see what happened when a deer jumped out, you lost traction on gravel, and hit a tree @ 45mph.

Wow thats a safe car, both me, and my dad (who was driving) came out without a scratch. We are actually lucky the tree was there or we'd be on the freeway and probably dead right now. Sad thing, is that my dad had Liability ONLY on the car so we aren't going to be getting a penny from the insurance company. He didn't plan on driving that car so he took it off. Lesson Learned.

Now we are looking into the Cheyenne Turbo, or possibly another LX470 since is was such a great car. Crazy.

Glad everyone was unhurt.

Just WOW! and I thought my mom messed my LX up bad. I'm looking at the picture of that aftermarket rim you had. I don't think I'll ever get aftermarket rims on my LX. They just seem too flimsy, afraid they will break in a pothole or something.
If your dad had just liability, does that mean he gets to keep the car? If so, you can probably make some money selling parts from that sucker. I know people look for that Nakamichi headunit on ebay (cus I did). If the seats are in good condition they could be worth something too.
I would love to get my hands on an LX wreckage!!!

It looks like a '99 from the Nakamichi system and the non wood steering wheel.

I am glad that you guys survived the crash in one piece! WOW! That's a true off-set crash at speeds greater than the IIHS criteria...so, this proves just how strong the LX's frame & body! THIS IS WHY THE LX COSTS SO MUCH! It's built the right way! This is what i have been trying to tell people when they question the LX's cost. Try that in other SUVs and you may not have been so lucky.

From the A pillar back, there's almost no damage at all. The front end and subframe seemed to absorbed all the impact. Wow.

I would advice you to get another LX...the new ones look great!

Yeah, keep in mind that before we hit the tree, it was standing almost straight-up. You can see where the asphault lifted up from the roots of the tree! wow.

Dude -- that sucks!

But...that's why I have an ARB bumper on my 450. Deer jump out in front of me? I'm not swerving...I'd rather hit the deer than deal with the hassle of repairs or insurance claims.

Sorry about the accident and glad you are OK. Doesn't the LX have VSC? How could it loose traction that easily? Was it a pre-2001 model without VSC?

Geez Jason, at least you and your dad came out unhurt. Too bad about the LX, though.

Took a look at your website, looks like you have done quite a few mods since I last saw your LS. You ever going to come by and hang out with us old farts, again? Are you going to be in the area for the EOS meet at Steven's Creek Lexus?

<Edit> You are on the EOS early-reg list. See you there. <Edit>

Incredible that the accident separated the wheel. Glad to hear you two were ok. As a veteran of deer accidents I know what the feeling is like, utter shock!

Glad that everyone survived. Are you parting out the LX?

Sorry to hear about you LX. Those trucks really are tanks. My 99 saved my life in a side impact at 45mph. I would not drive another car. BTW if you are considering parting out you LX i would be interested in a few pieces.
