Default What Happened To Improved 4.7 ?

I thought I had read the 05 LX 470 was getting the vvt-i 282hp 4.7 just like the Tundra and sequoia.
According to Lexus.com it still has the 235hp engine.
Does anyone know about this issue?

Perhaps no engine upgrade as they are waiting to introduce the new LX with a new engine.

I do recall reading somewhere that the current LX 's product life cycle goes to 2005 as the last production year. This implies that a new 2006 model may be introduced in 2005.

On the other hand, Lexus has announced the new GS will be out as a 2006 model year. If the new LX is as close to launch as the GS, then logic says Lexus should have made it public by now. Otherwise, we will have a 'vacuum' for model year 2006 where no LX will be available just as we currently have a vacuum for the GS where no 2005 model years would be available.

At least here in the Middle East, a 'vacuum' would be very detrimental to Toyota/Lexus as the LC (especially with its 6-cylinder engine) sells like hot cake here.

Oh yeah, tell me about it. That GX-R model is alllllllllllllllllllllll over the place, esp now that they look (exterior wise) almost identical to the VX-R model.
