I would like to know what's the best price and where to get the OEM spoiler from.
how much is the installation at the dealer versus any aftermarket shop ?

I've searched and it turns out that the 03 will fit on the 01. I'm trying to fiind out where to get the OEM spoiler from. For about a 100 more if i can get the original part I'll go that route.
if anyone has bought the OEM spoiler for a decent price kindly let me know the link or the contact info.
thnx again.

Lexs 400,

I wanted to put a spoiler on my 2000 LX. I asked the dealer and they said that it would be about $1100. After changing my underwear, I inquired why it was so much. I could order the spoiler on a new one for about $300. They said the labor to put it on was expensive and that it required a fair amount of disassembly of the vehicle to get the OEM one on. When I ordered my 2005, I made sure to order the spoiler to save that money. I'm not sure if it's factory installed, or port installed, but it's a helluva lot cheaper to get it as original equipment. I'm sorry if you already knew this, and I know my knowlege is limited on the subject, but I hope that helps. I just didn't want to see you buy one cheap and then soil yourself when they give you the installation charge for it!! Take care!!!

Factory spoiler is about $750 in parts. Spoiler, 3rd brake light, wire harness, factory 3rd lamp garnish and brackets & hardware. There are about 15 different part numbers involved in an installation. Labor @100 for 3-4 hours to install and you're right around $1100.

I'm pretty sure that all spoiler installed at the port; just like the RSES are.

As for why its $300 new car sticker vs $1100 installed after the fact, there are a lot of reasons. Big one being labor obviously, secondly the fact that you dont have to pay for parts that dont go on the car (3rd brake light et all). It will never add up to the New car sticker no matter how it gets sliced, unless they pay billy down the street $20.00 to plop on a $199.00 aftermarket spoiler.

Take an RX330 for example, why can you buy 18" Aluminum Alloy Wheels with 235/55R18 Mud and Snow Tires for $215.00 at the facory, but the dealer wants $500 a wheel & $200 a Tire after the fact? Its just the way it is

Umm... Yeah. Thanks for the info. I thought that's what my post said in not so many words. It certainly pays to order the car that way, rather than wait until later.

I asked the dealer and they said that even they will be fitting an aftermarket spoiler for 1000 including labor. so the dealer price still does not reflect OEM spoiler. I had them double check if the OEM spoiler can be bought and I am waiting to hear back from them will let post what I find out.

umsanj, thanks for the link, yes that is infact exactly what I was looking for. I will contact them and find out if they will send it painted or would I have to find an autobody shop to get it painted.
did you order the spoiler from this place ? or did you buy any other parts from this site ? just want to know how well they are with business.
