Off-roading in your LX?

does anyone on this group know of a place in the san francisco bay area that has an easy off road course for a stock lx470? hopefully a course that won't scratch the vehicle.

closest to you in the SF bay area would probably be Hollister Hills. it's in Hollister CA. An Off-Road Vehicles Park. One section for motorcycles/dirt bikes and the other for 4-wheel drive.

Guys, get out there and wheel these things!!!! They do better than 95% of the other SUV's can so why not? I know most aren't gonna go rock crawling but they are great on the majority of the trailsout there. As far as the 18's go Nitto has a fitment of there Terragrappler that performs well I believe. Go get your LX dirty

Tabraha - I see where Nitto carries a *285/60 R18 as you indicated. Would think that these would work fairly well given OEM size of 275/60/18. What is your opinion as to speedometer error or rubbing?
I would think that the tire mfgs will continue to evolve as more and more SUVs appear to be increasing rim sizes (the entire Land Rover line, for example). Would be nice to get a Cross Terrain or LTX in the OEM sizing at some point down the road. Thanks for the info.

I agree that there shouldn't be a problem with these at all. I have 16" wheels on my '99 and I have upgraded from a stock size of 265/75R16 (31.8" high) to a 285/75R16 (33" high and 11.5" wide) Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo with absolutely no problems. I've flexed the vehicle pretty well and there are zero clearance problems with these tires; even when stopped in the low setting.
I really don't see why a 325/60R18 wouldn't work on your 18's as it is 32.99" high and 12.83" wide and really gets the vehicle's stance to what it looks best at.
