Rattling noise

My 99 LX makes a loud rattling noise, usually while im stopped at a red light. The noise lasts for a few seconds and completely disappears while im still at the light. It does not happen every time, perhaps 20% of the time but is happening more & more frequently. I suspect it may be the exhaust rubber ties but the noise is actually coming from under the hood.
Would appreciate any feedback/hints on what this could be.
Thanks

It could be a loose heat sheild on your catalytic converters. I had something similar happen on a previous vehicle. It happened sometimes at start up, but usually when stopped at a traffic light or stop sign. It would rattle, then stop.
