This is my first post and I sure don't want to offend anyone. I was curious about the BMW X5, so we went for a test drive. It was peppy and handled exceptionally well, no body roll and the brakes were great. But the interior quality was a turn off. Our LX 470 is more luxurious by far. We were interested in the X5 before the test drive, but now we will be replacing our 99 with a 02. Just had to tell about the experience. Thanks. MLM

The X5 is a nice ride, I'll give it that and more. But....if you ask me it looks extremely cheesy, in the aspect that it's a BMW wagon with a raised roof. BMW makes great, exciting and fun cars, but god, why are they so damn scared to have some innovation with their designs?
Well anyway, there is no SUV anywhere on the market today that can compare with the LX470's styling, finesse and beauty.

Glad to hear you went with the LX470. While the X5 does handle great, it doesn't matter...it's an SUV (SAV...whatever). The LX has the ultimate in luxury, including the quiet ride. With the extra size of the LX you'll probably still get about the same MPG as the 4.4i.
Congrats and enjoy your other LX.
