i bought my gx new in early January; now have 2000 miles. I called the dealer to find out if I should come in for my first service, even with low milage; he said "NO" wait for 5000, which might take till fall. any suggestions?

You won't hurt anything by getting an 'early' oil change. It's not really necessary until your actually due with mileage or time.......I personally did an early oil change on my vehicle when I bought it brand new as there are some small metal shavings that acumulate on a brand new vehicle & I didn't want them in the oil pan or caught in the oil filter for too long so that's why I got an early oil change. Your call.....if that's what make you feel comfortable, go for it.
