I don't see a single thing to be excited over, what did they do? Change a few lights and tweak the grill a tad. It still doesn't look any different then mine.

I have to agree with you. There is nothing special.

I'm waiting for something that will actually move me to trade and none of the changes to date have inspired me to do so, so I'll continue to wait.

Not anything too special IMO!! Like you folks, I'll wait. I love my LX right now. Nothing on the '06 seems worth the trade.

Intersting observation here.

In most of the GX vs. LX threads of the past, the overwhelming issue was that the LX needed a power boost to compete. Now that the HP boost has been announced, I've noticed a collective yawn from current and previous owners.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing. I think the current gen LX/LC are already impressive vehicles

Oh yeah thats still the number one issue, but you can't throw the same 6-7 year old bone to us and expect us to bite it just because it has a little salt on it either. Remember too we already have one.

Looks like Lexus also removed the night vision option on the 06 LX. Anyone has experience with this? Is it as useful as they claimed it to be?

well i kinda agree about how some people are not wanting to upgrade their current LX for an 06' model. unless LED's and a bigger engine means alot to u, theres no reason to upgrade. and theres no new options, it already has everything, as well as 03+ models. its like dealerships automatically have LX with night vision and ML, never seen one without them

More HP - more efficient, body colored cladding, 18 inch wheels. I'm getting one.

are all the colors now with matching body cladding? it doesn't look like that on the website for some reason. but if so, finally! that is great.

and why did they get rid of blizzard pearl!?!?

i like the old 18" wheels better, why did they change those - they weren't around that long!

It looks as though they held back a little on the wood.

Classic Silver Metallic, Crystal White and Cypress Pearl
replace Blue Vapor Metallic, Blizzard Pearl and Eucalyptus Mica respectively. Best of
all, the three new colors will have color-keyed cladding for a more integrated and refined
appearance. The Crystal White is supposed to be a toned down Blizzard Pearl. We will see!

Isn't this the same power boost that was given to the GX470, Tundra, Sequoia, and 4runner in 2005? Hard to get excited about the addition of VVTi to the same 4.7 V8 that was added last year to other models. Why would someone that already owned a LX470 take a beating on a trade to pickup the same vehicle that can go from 0-60 1 second faster? One of the great features of the Lexus line of vehicles is that they last forever and show little wear as they age. Lexus needs to comeout with a engine that will separate the LX470 from the rest of the Toyota line of vehicles. Now it would be a different issue if you don't already own a LX470, I would buy a LX470 before I would buy any other Luxury SUV that is now on the market. New or used.
