Hi guys.
I have a 2003 LX470. The greatest car I have ever driven to date. No complaints from me so far, except one minor annoyance. The rear wiper keeps falling below the windshield. This happens almost every few days. Its especially bad when going into a carwash or driving at higher speed. I wish Lexus thought about installing a more permanent stopper to prevent this from happening. Not only does it render the wiper impractical when its service is needed while on the move, it just looks plain silly to be driving around in a nice car but the wiper looks like a dogtail hanging off the back
Do you guys have the same problem? Does anyone have solutions or know of something aftermarket we can install to fix this problem?
Thanks in advance for any response. Have a good one, fellas.
Tony

Had the problem on other rear wipers, typically the nut holding the arm onto the wiper motor stud is either loose and allowing the wiper to move or it has been loose in the past and has stripped the groves from either inside the arm, on the wiper motor stud or both.

I had the same problem and it was an easy fix. At the end/root of the wiper arm there's a plastic cover hiding the nut. Pull up the cover gently (I broke mine pulling too hard) and tighten the nut and you're set. Takes 15 seconds.

Hey thanks lindong and OzLX470.
Your advice worked perfectly. It turned out to be a loose bolt just like you said. Who knew it was such a simple problem. I thougt it was an inherent weakness that couldn't be fixed. Thanks a lot. You guys rock!

My rear wiper on 98 LX470 does not stay in contact with the rear window. AFter one swipe, the blade comes down and is about 1 inch off the glass. Is there an easy fix? Will tightening the nut at base of the arm correct this? Thanks for any responses.
