Default I expect low sales of LX/LC MY2006

With the bodystyle of the LX/LC expected to change in 2007, I would expect a lower sales volume for the 2006 model. Yes, the 2006 model will have more HP, but I would think that many people will not want to buy a vehicle that a) is on its last run style-wise and b) is on a first run of a souped up engine. What do you think?

When Lexus is about to introduce a next generation car/SUV, they limit production of the current model on purpose so they won't have tons of cars/SUVs sitting on lots. THey just did it with the2GS in 2005 b/c the 3GS came out in February.

The LX is rather old, its been around since 1998 but they sell every one they can build. People buy it b/c its the best or one of the best, even with newer models from other companies around.

Better yet buy a 1998/99 for the mid $ teens with around 100K miles on a vehicle that with limited cost, will go to 300K miles. Now that's a good deal Plus 99.9% of the public can't tell the difference between a 1998 and a 2006

It is also obvious that the change will be good for you to move to the newer bodystyle as well.

I'll keep what I have, been true to me since I was 16 when every other SUV I have owned hasn't. When I feel like something sportier I'll most likely just take the ferrari out of the garage.

Thanks for the thought though.
