Gas Mileage
Anyone have any suggestions as to how to improve the gas mileage on 06LX? Is there an air intake system or exhaust system that has proved effective at raising the mpg? I only have 2,000 miles on mine, but the best i have done is 14.3 (and that was on the highway).

Booohoooo...the only time i got close to 17 mpg was when i had Category 5 hurricane winds on my ***...going downhill on slick ice with the car in neutral!! Believe it or not, but the LX does get decent MPG for it's class of vehicle.
Quick answer to question: No. Any aftermarket mod likely will not improve...and it may make it worst. Just drive some more...your fuel economy will improve as you pile on more miles. I would consider "fuel system" cleaner every 3000-5000 miles...i use Chevron Fuel System Cleaner ($6-8 dollars per bottle). You can use any brandname...it's one of the few things that does some good for your car.

Lexus lists the EPA mileage at 13/17 city/highway, which is interesting because the Cayenne S (against which we are comparing right now...down to final 2 choices for my wife) is only 13/18 and is about 600 lbs. lighter.
Sounds like the lower end of the EPA numbers is what the owners have been living with.
But also, increased mileage will increase fuel economy as the engine loosens up and the seals work more efficiently. But how much of an increase is an open question.
