LX470 Battery Prices
Any advice on a reasonably priced place to find a battery for a 2001 LX470? I tried Sam's Club and Costco but neither stock the Group 27F and I was told that the cables probably won't reach for a normal 27.
The dealer quoted me $150 to install the battery which seems to be really high. Thanks for the help. I was told the only difference between a 27 and 27F is that the poles are reversed but I would appreciate it if someone could confirm it.

Pole Position
Does the dealer price include the price of the battery? Even so, that would be high.
On my LX 450, I found that the cables did not reach the terminals. I was able to get more length by snipping the cable ties that held them outside of the battery box.
Is the 470 battery cable setup similar? Do you have zip-ties holding the cables together?
Another option could be to buy the battery and install it backwards -- so the pos and neg terminals are closer to the cables. This would mean switching cable position. Might this work?
I bought my Optima Blue Top battery from Costco. Their Kirkland brand batteries are good too -- I've used them in the past.

Thanks for your suggestions but I didn't see much in the way of extra cable and I also have some other devices that attach in front of the battery.
I wish my Costco carried the right size battery but unfortunately they don't seem to stock the battery.
I may breakdown and go to Sears but at least I won't pay the mark-up at the dealer. The $150 dealer cost did include the battery.

I was in the same boat as you 6 months ago. The Lexus dealer wanter about $120 for the battery, the toyotal dealer wanted $89. I called Sears and they 'insisted' on another size (same as Costco) which was much smaller, but their 'book' stated that that was correct (because they did not have the 27F). Sam's club/Walmart has 27 but it will not work as the cables will not reach (yes the poles are reverse). I ended up going to AutoZone (or was it Pep boys) but they had 27F and I think I paid about $70 for the top of the line battery. Very easy to install. Sam's club has the best deal, ($39) but too bad they do not have 27F.
